Can CableDrops be re-positioned?

No. The adhesive on CableDrops is strong and permanent. The reason for this is that cables often exert tension and weight or are prone to be yanked and pulled, if the adhesive was weaker and removable, the CableDrops would occasionally fall off their surface by themselves, thus rendering them useless.

Can I buy additional clear plates for my POP?

Feel free to get in touch with us as we often have some spares in the Studio and would gladly send them to you so you can continue enjoying your Cool Feet. Alternatively you could consider using the cool feet upside down.

Using Cool Feet upside down

Some people have reported using their Cool Feet upside down by suctioning them to the desk instead of the laptop. This is a great little trick if you are concerned about attaching the adhesive plates to the bottom of your laptop.

Note however that this is no longer a portable solution as the Cool Feet will not move with the laptop when transported.

That depends on the laptop you are using.

The neat thing about Cool Feet is that they attach to laptops via suction cups, this make them easily removable. For the suction cup to work best, it must have a mirror like smooth surface, this means the Cool Feet attach naturally to white MacBooks and iBooks, but most other laptops have textured undersides in which case you will need to attach the plates. MacBook Pros have a very lightly sandblasted texture on the underside so they also require the plates for a proper suction.

The plates are transparent and barely 1mm thick so no bulk is added to your laptop.

If sticking some adhesive plates to the bottom of your laptop is still a concern but you really like cool feet, you may consider using cool feet upside down.

How do I remove the adhesive plates from my laptop?

To remove the plates, lift an edge (you may need to put something very thin under one side like a business card or knife edge) and pull up very very slowly allowing the adhesive to come apart naturally without pulling too hard.

I cannot attach Cool Feet on my laptop.

If your laptop does not have a smooth underside (like the MacBooks) then you will need to apply the adhesive plates under your laptop prior to suctioning the Cool Feet.

Try to position the adhesive plate on a flat surface under your laptop, not over a bump or over those small built-in rubber feet.

In very rare case, such as on certain very small laptops, it can be harder to find a proper flat spot for the adhesive plate. You could consider using the Cool Feet upside down.

We take great care in selecting the best adhesives whenever they are indispensible and even then we only work with the leading brands (3M). In this case, the adhesive must attach to a variety of different materials on many laptop models (plastic, metal or paint) and must also endure the intense heat from the underside of your computer. It is therefore not possible to say for sure that no marks will be left when removed several years from now. The primary focus is for the adhesive to prevent slipping and becoming unstuck even when hot, so we have selected a fairly strong adhesive.

If you really like the Cool Feet but are still concerned about using the adhesive plates on your laptop, you can consider using the feet upside down.
